The apartment building, originally erected around 1900, consists of a front building, a sidewing and a rear building.
It was built with brick walls and timber floors.
There was one underground floor and five stories above ground.
The refurbishment in 2005 added another story.
Due to the further use as retail space, the walls of the ground floor were taken out and their loads were transferred into columns.
The following goals were met with the optimization concept/process:
1. Minimization of structural conditions;
2. Optimization of the building process;
3. Reduction of the steel masses; and
4. Cost reduction of the structure of 20%.
